Online collaborative book creation
No grand successes in this yet, but here are some efforts under way:
Connexions, run by people at Rice University. Anybody can contribute a “module”, which could be the equivalent of a book chapter or lecture notes.
Wikibooks, a sister project to Wikipedia.
